Joe Plumber: Media Shouldn’t Report War

I found this on a human rights blog. This is really frightening:

Joe the Plumber: ‘I think media should be abolished’ from reporting on war.»Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka “Joe the Plumber,” is currently in Israel covering the war for the conservative site PJTV.com. When asked what he has learned from his new experiences as a journalist, Wurzelbacher said that he believes the media shouldn’t be allowed to do “reporting” on wars: I’ll be honest with you. I don’t think journalists should be anywhere allowed war. I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what’s happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I think it’s asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you’d go to the theater and you’d see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for’em. Now everyone’s got an opinion and wants to downer–and down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers. I think media should be abolished from, uh, you know, reporting. You know, war is hell. And if you’re gonna sit there and say, “Well look at this atrocity,” well you don’t know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think the media should have no business in it.

  1. And what should we do with liars like him? All of a sudden he’s become an important man! Who is he to receive red carpet treatment? Who is he to report on such an important issue? In short who is he? The Israelis need to be protected and the Palestinians need to have a decent home.

  2. Joe the Plumber almost got it right. Media should not be embedded in war. The media should be free to decide how it covers the war. Embedded Media is propaganda. Imagine if Hitler had an Embedded Media? Imagine if racists had Embedded Media to control the coverage of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? The person who control the focus of the camera shoots all and does far more damage than the war itself. The images released go straight to the hearts and minds of the good people watching. Embedded Media is “Propaganda.”

  3. I half agree with Mr. Wurzelbacher, and agree with Mr. Jones’ post above….the media shouldn’t be embedded, but should still report somehow. Being that, however, at least someone is over there covering the story from the side of Isreal, which is the side the Main Stream Media has forgotten about. Actually…they’re not forgetting…they’re ignoring. Mr. Wurzelbacher may not have the “journalist” credentials, but that only means that he wasn’t brainwashed by attending a journalist school. I would trust his ethics more than any ABC reporter any day.
