The Archdiocese of Toronto pilgrims attending the World Youth Day in Australia are presently participating in the “Days in the Diocese” in Melbourne. It’s a chance to experience the local culture, church and hospitality. I’ve been to Melbourne and can say that it is a truly gracious city and a warm community. It may not have the spectacular harbour of Sydney… but it a place you would want to live. It’s already Monday night in Australia as I write this so our pilgrims are either on the way or preparing to travel to Syndey. Australia is BIG… that journey is about 10 hours by car. Our prayers go with them. A big thanks to Marist Brother Mark O’Connor and the organizers of the Days in Melbourne and to all the local folks for their warm hospitality to our people.
