I’ve been working with a group from the Archdiocese of Toronto in preparation for our pilgrimage to Quebec City and the 49th International Eucharistic Congress. This coincides with Quebec’s 400 anniversary of foundation. It’s a great year for the Church of Quebec and in Canada.
Our Archdiocesan pilgrimage will see 500 delegates attending this international event. We will be participating in the morning catechetical sessions each day. We have also prepared additional opportunities for our delegates and pilgrims to share, reflect and celebrate the gift of the Eucharist in our lives. Some of the themes include the Eucharist as gift, The Paschal Mystery, source of Unity and our diversity, our mission in the world and the Eucharist and social justice.
The programme, both from the organizers in Quebec and that of the Archdiocese is very exciting. I look forward to a great week. I hope that many people will join us for this event from all over Canada and the U.S.
